“Smooth Operator” Musique Boutique (RNC)
RNC gives us 3 mixes of this Sade cover and all three deliver. The Chillout Bossa mix is close to the Original. The Deep House Mix is a beautiful take on this tune reminiscent of the Illicit mix that came out back in the day. The Tropical House mix is a bit more techy. You simply can’t go wrong with this release.
“Meet In The Middle” LCAW (Ultra)
“Meet In The Middle” is a very cool downtempo House track with a great big pop hook. The blue eyed female vocal gives us exactly what we want in this kind of tune. This could be a nice bridge between those downtempo pop tunes you need to play in a lounge setting and the House tracks you want to play!
“I Still Believe (Joie De Vivre)” Danny Satori & Ian Campbell (Karmic Power)
This Danny Satori track is uptempo driving, pumping, thumping House music. They give us a little double bass for a Hi-NRG feel to it as well. The vocal is all Italo and sounds a lot like Stefano Pulga of “Love Taker” fame. They could not have put this together any better. Ripe for club play and sophisticated enough for Mix Shows and Radio airplay!
