“Smooth Operator” Musique Boutique (RNC)
RNC gives us 3 mixes of this Sade cover and all three deliver. The Chillout Bossa mix is close to the Original. The Deep House Mix is a beautiful take on this tune reminiscent of the Illicit mix that came out back in the day. The Tropical House mix is a bit more techy. You simply can’t go wrong with this release.
“Meet In The Middle” LCAW (Ultra)
“Meet In The Middle” is a very cool downtempo House track with a great big pop hook. The blue eyed female vocal gives us exactly what we want in this kind of tune. This could be a nice bridge between those downtempo pop tunes you need to play in a lounge setting and the House tracks you want to play!
“I Still Believe (Joie De Vivre)” Danny Satori & Ian Campbell (Karmic Power)
This Danny Satori track is uptempo driving, pumping, thumping House music. They give us a little double bass for a Hi-NRG feel to it as well. The vocal is all Italo and sounds a lot like Stefano Pulga of “Love Taker” fame. They could not have put this together any better. Ripe for club play and sophisticated enough for Mix Shows and Radio airplay!

“Smalltown Boy 2018” by Bronski Beat (Dirty Disco Music)
The Dirty Disco boys out of Houston, Texas are working on a number of great projects with the reformed Bronski Beat, and for this classic single they deliver two mixes, both deep, dark and delicious – just like chocolate!
“Back 1nce Again” by PH Project (Nu Style Records)
There is a lot to like about this single. The PH Project combine a Fatboy Slim vs Porn Kings styled vocal sample over a tough-as-nails House track. When you listen carefully you can hear “Plastic Dreams” by Jaydee underneath! Sounds like a lot and it is, but well worth it!
“2B Your Man” by Armodine (Total Freedom Recordings)
We nearly lost our minds trying to figure out the vocal sample in this. It’s the Scissor Sisters. This is quite an aggressive House track, with a breakdown section that dives into a mid 90’s retro breakz section! Way cool! This would complement the PH Project track also featured in this issue of On Our Radar.
“Now You’re In” by Gorgan (Open House Records)
Gorgan brings us a beautiful laid back instrumental track. The piano keys in particular will make you think of spring. DJs always like to use these kind of tracks as a way to clean the palette on the dance floor or in mix shows, and to create a beautiful valley in between two peak hour tracks. With the right crowd this could be a stand out all on its own! Gorgeous and moving.

If this was Justin Bieber you would be hearing this everywhere already! It really is that good. DJs have
four mixes to choose from. We prefer the really cool Extended Mix, and the Fran Garcia mix is also super interesting.
This is a super strong pop single. You need this!
“Illusion” Joe Manina (Black Lizard)
Joe Manina gives us a great House track using the vocal sample from the Imagination classic “Just An Illusion” as the hook. The track itself is a great compliment to the sample and the drum track is the kind that could be mixed with almost everything rocking dance floors today. Use this track to take you from where you are to where you want to go!
